1. Cushion materials

1.1 Texfiber

Another name for Texfiber is outdoor textiles. The Texfiber material is very similar to ordinary textiles. Furniture with Texfiber is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Texfiber is a mix of textile and polyester. The texfiber cushions from the Garden Impressions collection either have a nylon inner cover filled with a normal foam core, so that no water can penetrate the foam core, or have a quick-dry foam filling. With a quick-dry foam filling, water easily runs through the cushions.

Texfiber garden furniture can be easily cleaned with lukewarm water, detergent and a soft brush. It can also be treated with Garden Impressions Fabric & Rope Protector and Cleaner. In addition, a cover to protect against dirt and sun / frost is always recommended.

Advantages:

  • Weatherproof
  • UV-resistant
  • Colourfast
  • Easy to maintain
  • Material does not disintegrate

1.2 Textilene

Textilene is a weather-resistant, plastic material that consists of a wire with a nylon core and a PVC coating over it. Cleaning textile garden furniture is easy with lukewarm water, soft soap solution and a cloth. Then rinse with clean water and allow to dry.

  • Weatherproof
  • UV-resistant
  • Colourfast
  • Mold resistant
  • Easy to maintain
  • Resistant to extreme temperatures (-40 °C to +40 °C)

1.3 Spun polyester cushion covers

Spun polyester consists of 100% polyester fibres. Compared to polyester, spun polyester is a slightly softer material. This is due to the way of weaving. This material is woven like cotton and therefore feels very comfortable.

Some polyester cushions have a zipper which makes the covers easy to wash. The covers are best washed by hand (max. 30°C). The covers can easily be pulled over the cushions after washing if they are still slightly damp.

It is important to take into account that some covers made of spun polyester are washed with a coating that makes them water-repellent. The more often you wash the pillows, the less water-repellent they become. If you would like to keep the cushions water-repellent, it is possible to impregnate the covers with a special detergent during washing or to have the cushions washed by a professional company. The covers can also be treated with Garden Impressions Fabric & Rope Protector and Cleaner.

If you do not use the pillows for a longer period of time, we recommend storing the pillows dry and clean. If the cushions remain damp, this can cause mold to form.

Never cover damp pillows with a protective cover.

Advantages:

  • UV grade 4+
  • Water-repellent
  • Dirt resistant
  • Antifungal
  • Easy to maintain
  • High seating comfort

1.4 All Weather Textilene cushion covers

The All Weather cushions have a textilene or Texfiber upholstery, an "Easy Dry" filling in the seat cushion and a Fiberfill filling in the back cushion. The "Easy Dry" filling consists of a foam core with an open structure that makes the cushion permeable to water, as it were. The cushions do not fill up like a sponge in the rain, but the water runs out through the open structure. The pillows will therefore dry up quickly after a rain shower, especially if you place the pillows at an angle so that the water can drain out even better and faster.

The pillows are easy to clean with lukewarm water, a soft soap solution and a cloth. For longer periods of no use, the pillows are best stored in a dry, clean place. Since dirt can soak into the Textilene, they stay stored longer clean.

Advantages:

  • Water permeable
  • Easy to maintain

1.5 Easy Dry Texfiber cushion covers

The garden furniture made of texfiber has a foam core that is equipped with a waterproof nylon cover to prevent water from entering the foam.

Cleaning texfiber is easy with lukewarm water, green soap and a soft brush. It can also be treated with Garden Impressions Fabric & Rope Protecter and Cleaner. In addition, it is advisable to use a cover to protect against dirt and frost. Store the furniture in a dry place.

Advantages:

  • Water-repellent
  • Easy to maintain
  • Dries quickly

1.6 Fiberfill cushion filling

The back cushions from our collection of garden furniture that are not equipped with an 'Easy Dry' filling are equipped with a Fiberfill filling. Fiberfill is a comfortable material which makes a pillow very resilient. Fiberfill is made of polyester cotton wool. We recommend washing pillows with a Fiberfill filling by hand (max. 30°C).

1.7 Cold foam cushion filling

Most garden furniture from our collection is equipped with seat cushions with a cold foam core. Cold foam is made of PE plastic and is very sturdy. This material is very suitable for cushions that are used intensively. The thickness of the cold foam differs per piece of furniture, because the seating comfort is partly determined by the finish of the frame. The thickness of the cushion is specifically tailored to each specific piece of furniture.

The cold foam core is combined with a layer of Fiberfill. This combination ensures a firm and comfortable seat cushion. The Fiberfill layer also ensures that the cushion bounces back into its original shape after use.

We do not recommend washing the pillow filling. Cold foam dries very slowly. However, you can refresh the pillow filling with a dry wash spray.

2. Frames

2.1 Aluminium

Our range includes not only garden furniture with an aluminium base, like all wicker furniture, but also furniture made entirely of aluminium. The aluminium is always powder coated to protect the material. The powder coating is wear-resistant. Minor damage in the coating can easily be repaired with a paint marker or spray.

Aluminium can easily be cleaned with a cloth and lukewarm water with a soft soap solution or cleaning vinegar.

Advantages:

  • Rust resistant
  • Maintenance-free
  • Wear-resistant
  • Lightweight
  • Modern look

2.2 Steel

Steel is stronger and more stable than aluminium. This is also the reason why pavilions and swing benches often have a steel frame. The steel frames in our range are always powder coated.
Minor damage in the coating can easily be updated with a paint pen. Steel can be easily cleaned with a cloth and lukewarm water with a mild soap solution or cleaning vinegar.

Advantages:

  • Robust
  • Easy to maintain
  • Water-repellent
  • Durable
  • Recyclable

2.3 Stainless steel

Stainless steel is a material that cannot rust on its own. However, dirt and damage in the coating can rust.

Stainless steel can easily be cleaned with a cloth and lukewarm water with a soft soap solution or cleaning vinegar. Special stainless steel cleaners can also be used.

Advantages:

  • Robust
  • Stronger than aluminium
  • Corrosion resistant
  • Easy to maintain

2.4 Granite

Garden Impressions' collection also includes granite garden tables from the Studio 20 brand. Granite is a very hard and heavy type of natural stone. Granite is a natural product. As a result, each granite table has its own, unique look.

For Studio 20 garden tables only the best materials are used. These are selected on the basis of quality and appearance. The granite table top is polished so that it has a smooth finish.

Granite is very easy to maintain. It is enough to clean this material with a mild detergent. To deepen the colour of granite or to add an additional protective layer, special maintenance products for granite are available. These are not available in the Garden Impressions range.

Advantages:

  • Highly durable
  • Almost maintenance-free
  • Strong and heavy
  • Durable

2.5 Plastic

Most plastics are composed of different materials and are UV resistant. The chemical composition determines the lifespan of the plastic but also the extent to which the garden furniture is resistant to UV radiation and weather resistance. Plastic in combination with fiberglass provides extra stability.

Cleaning the plastic furniture is quite simple: use warm to hot soapy water, let it soak for a few minutes so that the dirt soaks and by using a sponge, soft cloth or brush, deposits will be easily removed.

  • Weatherproof
  • Easy to maintain
  • Lightweight
  • Durable
  • Very strong

3. Braided materials

3.1 Wicker

Wicker is a material made of plastic (PE) and is available in different colours and shapes.

All the wicker from our collection is woven by hand around the frame. This makes every piece of furniture unique in its finish. The different shapes of the wicker give the Garden Impressions garden furniture their own, specific look.

Cleaning wicker garden furniture is easy with lukewarm water, soft soap solution and a sponge. Rinse with clean water and let it dry. In addition, a cover to protect against dirt and sun / frost is always recommended.

  • Weatherproof
  • Colourfast
  • Antifungal
  • Easy to maintain

Rope is also used in the Garden Impressions collection. This exists in different versions.

3.2 QualiCord Rope

QualiCord Rope is a weatherproof wire. This material is not only water-repellent, but also very easy to maintain and durable. The outer layer consists of solution dyed polyester, followed by a rubber layer containing a polyester thread. QualiCord is high quality and ensures that rope becomes even more durable and stronger.

QualiCord Rope is easy to clean with water and a mild soap solution. A cleaner and protector for rope are also available in the range.

  • Weatherproof
  • Easy to maintain
  • Durable
  • Very strong

3.3 TPU rope

TPU rope is a material made of plastic (PU) and is available in different colours and shapes. It looks like rope, but it's a plastic wire.

Cleaning TPU garden furniture is easy with lukewarm water, a soft soap solution and a sponge. Rinse with clean water and let it dry.

In addition, a cover to protect against dirt and sun / frost is always recommended.

  • Weatherproof
  • Colourfast
  • Antifungal
  • Easy to maintain

4. Tabletops

4.1 Centostone®

Centostone® is a great new material for tabletops. It is similar to ceramic, but much more compact and therefore much harder and sturdier.

Centostone® is extremely durable and versatile. Due to its extreme hardness, it is resistant to scratches and heat. Because the material does not absorb moisture, no circles and other stains can form and it is easy to clean. In addition, Centostone® is environmentally friendly, because it consists mostly of natural materials and the production process is energy efficient.

Centostone® is exclusively used in Garden Impressions products. Available in the colours Sicilian grey, Venice white, Rome bronze, Milano brown and Milano beige.

  • Super strong
  • UV and heat resistant
  • Scratch resistant
  • Moisture resistant

4.2 Safety glass

Some models have a safety glass table top. In our range we have safety glass table tops with coloured foil on the bottom of the table top or only transparent safety glass.

However, safety glass, just like ordinary glass, is sensitive to scratches. The best way to clean glass is with a special glass cleaner and a soft cloth.

When using a protective cover, you must ensure that the cover does not come into direct contact with the tabletop, otherwise condensation water may form and the coating may come off. To form a distance between the tabletop and the cover, you can use the stand from our collection.

Advantages:

  • Neutral design
  • Water-repellent
  • Easy to maintain

4.3 Ceramic glass

Ceramic glass is made of a thin layer of ceramic which is applied to the top of a glass plate and then baked.

A tabletop made of this material is best cleaned with a soft cloth or brush and green soap. When using a protective cover, you need to make sure that the cover does not come into direct contact with the tabletop, otherwise condensation may form and the coating may come off. You can use the stand from our collection to form a distance between the tabletop and the cover.

  • Scratch resistant
  • Firm
  • Easy to maintain
  • Wear-resistant
  • Heat-resistant
  • Light weight
  • Less sensitive to dirt than normal glass
  • Natural look

4.4 Spraystone

Spraystone is a very fine grain coating that is sprayed on safety glass. This gives the safety glass an appearance that is very similar to natural stone. Our products have a durable spraystone coating which gives them a granite look.

A spraystone table top is best cleaned using a soft brush and warm water. This first removes sand and dirt. Then clean the table top with lukewarm water and green soap or detergent. Do not forget to rinse afterwards with clear water to prevent stains from the detergent remaining on the table top.

When using a protective cover, make sure that the cover does not come into contact with the tabletop. This can lead to condensation and the loosening of the coating. You can use the stand from the collection or, for example, a flower pot to form a distance between the tabletop and the cover.

Advantages:

  • Firm
  • Lighter in weight than granite
  • Easy to maintain
  • Water-repellent

4.5 Terrazzo

A terrazzo table top is a natural stone-like product. This tabletop has a unique finish, as it is made of a combination of pieces of marble with concrete. The tabletop is finished with a coating, which provides a smooth surface. This material is extremely strong and easy to maintain, as no liquid can soak into it.

Cleaning a terrazzo table top can be done with a gentle detergent and lukewarm water. Do not use acidic or powerful cleaning agents, as this can damage the top layer.

It is also not advisable to place hot objects on the tabletop, because marble can discolour with large temperature differences.

Wood and wood substitutes

4.6 Vironwood

The perfect alternative to wood

Vironwood® is a specially developed plastic that, thanks to its natural structure, can hardly be distinguished from real (teak) wood with the naked eye. The material is extremely solid, easy to clean with lukewarm soapy water and UV and weather resistant. Moreover, Vironwood® is very colourfast, especially compared to other plastics used for table tops. Another plus is the fact that Vironwood® can be called absolutely environmentally friendly. The material contains no harmful chemicals and is 100% recyclable. Vironwood® is exclusively used in Garden Impressions products.

Advantages:

  • Recyclable
  • Does not discolour
  • Hardly works
  • Easy to maintain
  • Durable

4.7 Polywood

Polywood consists entirely of plastic (PS). It is a fully recyclable material and very durable. Compared to real wood, this wood substitute hardly "works" and therefore no cracks or sanding can occur over time.

Polywood can be easily cleaned with lukewarm soapy water from detergent and a sponge or soft brush. We also have a special polywood cleaner & protector in our range. By treating the polywood with this, stains are prevented from penetrating and the material is well protected.

Matte polywood can also be sanded with the grain with very fine sandpaper to make it shine like new again. In addition, it updates superficial imperfections.

Advantages:

  • Recyclable
  • Easy to maintain
  • Does not discolour
  • Hardly works

4.8 Imowood

Imowood by Garden Impressions is the perfect alternative to wood. Our smart technology offers the appearance of natural wood without the disadvantages of wood. Imowood is made of plastic (PS).

This material has a solid, hard structure, and the boards are finished with a protective coating. This coating also has a structure: this structure ensures that the boards feel like real wood.

The composition of Imowood prevents shrinkage or expansion due to extreme temperatures outside, so that no cracks or crevices form. It's also virtually maintenance-free: you don't have to sand and re-paint or oil every year. You can easily wipe the table with a damp cloth and a gentle detergent to keep it clean.

  • Looks like real wood
  • Easy to clean and maintenance-free
  • Extremely durable
  • Weatherproof

Both Vironwood, polywood and Imowood are heat sensitive, so you have to take a number of things into account. Always place glasses on a fireproof coaster. A glass can act as a convex lens and cause local extreme heat. Pay particular attention to wine glasses, here it can happen that a melting point occurs in the leaf (see photo). In addition, it is better not to place hot objects such as pans, BBQ tongs, etc. on the table top. To avoid burn holes, put your table in the shade or use a parasol to avoid direct sunlight on glasses.

In addition to the above-mentioned wood substitutes, we also have articles made of real wood in our range, namely teak, eucalyptus and acacia wood.

5. Wood tabletops

5.1 Teakwood

To clean teak wood, it is best to first soak the wood well with water so that the pores open. Then you can mix a cup of soda or table salt with lukewarm water and scrub it longitudinally from the wood grain with the help of a sponge. Then rinse with water. After cleaning, you can still treat the wood with a special oil or sealer. If the wood is not maintained, this can age over time. We recommend treating teak twice a year with a teak maintenance product.

Advantages:

  • Weatherproof
  • Firm
  • Easy to maintain
  • Durable

5.2 Acacia wood

Acacia is a type of wood that is ideally suited for creating beautiful, sustainable garden furniture. The Garden Impressions Acacia collection comes from responsibly managed forests. This natural material is very easy to clean and maintain, especially in the whitewash version of Garden Impressions. Occasionally, only the application of some special whitewash hardwood oil is needed.

The Garden Impressions collection includes acacia tables, chairs (often in combination with QualiCord rope), lounge and dining sets.

Acacia hardwood is a natural product. Due to the natural effect of wood, small cracks and cracks can occur. These give the product an authentic look.

  • Easy to use and clean
  • Durable
  • Natural product
  • Authentic appearance

5.3 Eucalyptus wood

Eucalyptus wood is a type of hardwood characterized by its coarse grain. Eucalyptus wood ages faster compared to acacia or teak wood, because this type of wood contains less natural oil.

The eucalyptus wood in the Garden Impressions collection has a white wash finish. This wood also needs the necessary maintenance. It is advisable to treat this material twice a year with a hardwood oil, provided with a white wash. This allows you to best preserve the original color of the garden furniture.

6. Outdoor carpets

Garden Impressions also has carpets in its collection. These are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Our carpets are available in different sizes.

Our carpets are made of polypropylene. A carpet with polypropylene fibres has a slightly coarser structure, the ideal material for carpets that are walked on a lot.

A polypropylene carpet is easy to clean. With a vacuum cleaner you can quickly remove all dust, hair and dirt. Stains can easily be removed with a wet cloth and mild detergent. In addition, the carpets can also be sprayed off with a garden hose.

Advantages:

  • Wear-resistant
  • UV-resistant
  • Colorfast
  • Bacteria resistant
  • Hardly absorbs moisture
  • Easy to maintain
  • Hardly static
  • Stain resistant

7. Parasols

The parasols are supplied without a base as standard. (with the exception of the Athene model.) In addition, you should take into account the fact that the cross feet Hawaii are delivered without inserts. In the catalogue you can also read which base is suitable for which model of parasol and you will find more information about the different parasols.

The parasols are intended for sun protection, even though the fabrics are water-repellent. In the assortment there are parasols with different types of cloths.

All Hawaii parasols from the Garden Impressions range are equipped with an adapter with which a heater or parasol lamp from the Garden Impressions range can be easily attached.

Depending on the colour and material of the fabric, the parasols offer a protection of UPF 30-50. UPF stands for 'Ultraviolet Protection Factor' and is comparable to the SPF value that is assigned to, for example, sunscreens to indicate the degree of protection of our fabrics against UV radiation. This means that you are always protected against direct UV rays.

The cloths of the parasols are easy to clean with lukewarm soapy water and a brush, a garden hose can also be used. The polyester cloths are best washed by hand (max. 30°C).

It is important to take into account the fact that the cloths polyester are washed with a coating that makes them slightly water-repellent. The more often you wash the cloths, the less water-repellent they will become.

You can also use the Garden Impressions Fabric & Rope cleaner. After cleaning, let the wet parasol dry well when unfolded to prevent mold on the fabric.

To optimally protect the parasols, special covers are available that protect the parasols from dirt and rain. If the parasol is not used, we recommend storing it dry and clean.

Type of parasol

Foot weight

Standing parasol

25kg / 30kg / 40kg / 60kg

Cantilever parasol

60 kg / 80 kg / 90 kg / 120 kg

60 kg / 80 kg / 90 kg / 120 kg

Keep the following guideline: 10 kg weight per 1 m2 of cloth

8. Pavilions

Pavilions, like the parasols, are also primarily intended for sun protection. They all have a sturdy frame made of powder-coated steel or aluminium. The frames can therefore stand in the rain without any problems. However, with the powder-coated steel frames, you should take into account that rust can occur over time.

Depending on the colour and fabric of the fabric, the pavilions offer a protection of UPF 30-50. UPF stands for 'Ultraviolet Protection Factor' and is comparable to the SPF value given, for example, to sunscreens to indicate the degree of protection of our products against UV radiation. This means that with a Garden Impressions pavilion you are always protected against direct UV rays.

The canvases of the pavilions are easy to clean with lukewarm soapy water and a brush. You can also use a garden hose for this. Then let the wet pavilion dry well to prevent mold on the canvas.

To optimally protect the pavilions, always remove the canvas when you are not using the pavilion. Rainfall creates water bags in the roof and the fabric can eventually tear. Also in windy weather conditions, it is better to remove the fabric from the frame and possibly take the frame apart. If you do not use the pavilion, store it in a clean and dry place.

Advantages:

  • Sturdy and easy to use
  • Protection against direct UV radiation
  • Easy to maintain
  • Lots of shade for many people

9. Cozy Living

The Cozy Living Collection by Garden Impressions includes various heat sources. We distinguish hereby between fireplaces and electric heaters.

When using a heat source, keep in mind that a room should not be completely closed off and that a natural oxygen supply should always be guaranteed.

9.1 Gas heaters

The fireplaces are made of a stainless steel burner and have a housing made of aluminium or magnesium oxide with fiberglass. They have a spacious housing in which the gas cylinders can be stored. We have two article numbers for each fireplace; one for the Dutch market and one for the German market. The reason for this is that there is a difference in the height of the gas cylinders on the different markets, which is why the housings of the fireplaces for Germany are higher than the Dutch versions. The Dutch versions have a pressure regulator of 30Mb as standard and the German version one of 50 Mb.

The fireplaces are supplied excluding gas bottle. A gas hose, gas pressure regulator and a matching protective cover are supplied as standard with each fireplace. Each model differs whether lava stones or glass stones are included. It also differs per model whether a protective glass set is included. In our catalogue, each model describes exactly which accessories are included.

Advantages:

  • User-friendly
  • Safe heat source
  • Gas cylinder can be put in housing
  • Easy to maintain
  • Plug and Play
  • Cozy atmosphere

9.2 Electric heaters

Compared to the fireplaces, electric fireplaces require less heat time to heat up. In addition, they can also be used in closed or partially enclosed spaces. They are therefore also an ideal source of heat. When installing an electric heater, you should always take into account the length of the cord to the nearest outlet.
The electric heaters have a steel housing. Some models can be hung and others are freestanding. They are supplied with a power cord and instructions for use. It also contains more information about the maintenance and cleaning of the electric heaters. Hanging heaters can easily be hung in the Hawaii parasols via an adapter (included).

Advantages:

  • User-friendly
  • Safe heat source
  • Power cord included
  • Easy to maintain

10. Coverit protective covers

The Coverit protective covers are available in various sizes and designs. They are suitable for lounge sets, lounge-dining sets and chairs, as well as for parasols, fireplaces and heaters.

The covers are made of 300D Rip stop Oxford Polyester and have a breathable TPU coating. Furthermore, some of the covers from our collection have a ventilation triangle. For the optimal fit, the covers have elastic corners or a drawstring.

Due to weather influences, it is possible that condensation forms under the cover. In the assortment of Garden Impressions there is a suitable rod for the Coverit covers. By placing it under the cover, better ventilation is guaranteed and the ventilation triangles also ensure that there is sufficient ventilation. In this way, the table top is protected from damage by suffocation. As an alternative to the rod, for example, a flower pot can also be used. This creates distance between the table top and the cover. In addition, the water can drain from it even more easily. In the catalogue you will find an overview with information about which protective cover fits which article. POS Material is also available for our protective covers.

The Coverit protective covers can be cleaned from the garden hose with the help of a brush, cloth or sponge and lukewarm soapy water or water. Then let it dry well.

Advantages:

  • User-friendly
  • Easy to maintain
  • Weatherproof
  • Waterproof
  • Antifungal
  • Dirt resistant

11. Care products

The Garden Impressions collection also includes care and cleaning products for garden furniture. These products are sold separately and are suitable for Polywood/Vironwood and rope or upholstered furniture.

Fabric & Rope cleaning and protection products

The cleaning product comes in user-friendly spray bottles with a one liter capacity. Both the cleaning and the protective product are suitable for all types of rope and upholstered furniture, but also for garden cushions.

The detergent can be used to remove stains. First moisten the area to be treated with water, then spray the area with the detergent and let it act.

The duration of the soaking time depends on the degree of contamination. After it has been incorporated, the area can be removed with a gentle cleaning sponge. If the stain is removed, the area should be washed again with clear water, and then dry well. To impregnate the material again and protect it from further contamination, you can apply the protective equipment afterwards.

The protective product protects the garden furniture against stains and other weather influences. Before applying the protective equipment, the material must be clean and dry. The protective agent can then be sprayed over a large surface of the material until it is soaked. The material must then dry for 24 hours. The treatment can be repeated as many times as you want. Ideally, rope and textiles should be treated twice a year.
